Ask about special pricing combining this tour with Soledad de Maciel El Refugio de Potosi Just a short drive south of Zihuatanejo lies El Refugio de Potosi, a combination wildlife rehabilitation center, educational center and refuge. Their primary mission is twofold. To educate locals and tourists alike about the incredible wildlife and ecosystems that make up this area, with the hope knowledge will facilitate awareness and protection. The second function is rescue and rehabilitation of orphaned and injured wildlife with the goal of reintroducing the animals back to their habitats. The facility is privately owned and funded by visitors and donations. Open to the public, they have many animals and birds on display so we may become more familiar with our seldom seen wild neighbors. A butterfly house, hummingbird feeding station and hands on displays invite curious minds. Of Special interest is a Sperm Whale skeleton collected on a local beach. At 18 meters it is believed to be the largest on display in the world  new birding trail bordering a lagoon and forest Under construction is a habitat allowing a safe environment to observe the incredible array of local birds. Be sure not to miss climbing 50ft observation tower giving a dazzling overview of this magnificent area.
