Tours
Las Cascadas de Mesas de Bravo
Located in the
Sierra Madre del
Sur, or the
Southern Sierra
Madre Mountains,
Mesas de Bravo
and its adjoining
waterfalls are
truly a hidden gem.
Created by the
founding family of
the town, Las
Cascadas (the
waterfalls) are a
privately owned
ecotour destination.
Established to
preserve the natural
beauty and benefit
the local residents, it succeeds on both counts.
An approximate 1 hour drive on a scenic
mountain road leaves us at the pine-oak forest
and the falls. We hike the arroyo, exploring
the river, the wildlife and scenery. Take the
opportunity to swim the clear waters. Feeling
adventurous? Jump from the rocks into the
refreshing pools.
We also visit the small village of Mesas de
Bravo. A traditional ranch community of
mostly adobe homes. It is an excellent chance
to see the lifestyle of the local
people, away from the touristy coast.
Available, but not included in the price, is
the opportunity to enjoy a fresh homemade
lunch of regional foods, cooked just for us
and served near the falls. The money from
this goes straight to those preparing the meal
therefor helping the local economy directly.
Prices
1,500 pesos for 1 or 2 people
100 pesos for each additional person
up to 7 total
LUNCH is 100 pesos per person
This tour is about 6 to 7 hours
