Q.-Is it safe wherever we are going?
A.-No one can guarantee anything anywhere,
however the places I take tours to are
places I have been going for years. I take
my family there. I am not suicidal and I
I love my family...
Q.-What clothes/shoes should I wear?
A.-Light comfortable clothing, it’s the tropics,
it’s HOT. For waterfall and birding tours
tennis shoes, or better, hiking sandals. Do
not wear flip flops. Also your feet may get wet.
For the ruins, Barra, Refugio: comfortable
footwear (yes, flip flops)
Q.-Are there age/physical restrictions?
You know yourself and your abilities far
better then I. The waterfall and birding
tours involve uneven ground. Hiking. Sometimes
steps and suspension bridges. I DO NOT
consider this strenuous. We take our time,
no power walking, and no rush. I have taken
children as young as 5 and as old as 82.
Small children require CONSTANT supervision
by their parents. The word “waterfall”
denotes cliffs, rocks and flowing water.
Please keep that in mind.
Q.-Are there mosquitoes, bugs, snakes etc.?
In general I would say no on mosquitoes and
biting insects. Certain times of the year
more then others. I usually have repellent
with me. You are welcome to bring some as well.
Snakes? Rarely, and usually they are getting
away from us. If you WANT to see a snake, i
will see if I can rustle one up...
